It all began in April 2024, when subtle changes in my speech were first noticed. I then lost 25 pounds, followed by increasing difficulty swallowing and speaking clearly. In December, I received a terrifying diagnosis: ALS with bulbar onset—an aggressive form of the disease.

By March 2025, I had completely lost my ability to speak, and my body was growing weaker. I began using a cane, then graduated to different types of rollators to help me walk safely. Eventually, I transitioned to a wheelchair. As of July, I am no longer able to stand and now live with very limited mobility.

Yet in this new chapter of life, God has blessed us with incredible people and organizations that lift us up and carry us through each day.

This September, I’m participating in the 2025 ALS Walk Georgia—not just for myself, but for every individual and family navigating the challenges of ALS. This disease may have reshaped my life, but it has not touched my hope, my spirit, or my determination.

ALS is relentless—but so are we. Every step we take together fuels progress toward better treatments, stronger support systems, and one day, a cure. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
