Rajula Ni Shakti
What a journey this past year has been. A year ago, ALS wasn’t even on my radar—I had no family history, no friends or acquaintances with it—and then, in April 2025, I received the diagnosis that changed my life.
The past 12 months have brought their share of challenges and limitations, but they have also given me something deeply meaningful: the chance to pause, reflect, and appreciate life in its purest form. I’ve been reminded of what truly matters—my faith, my family, my friends, and my community. These are my sources of strength—my Shakti—the power that sustains me.
Over my 68 years, I have been blessed with countless experiences and relationships that have shaped who I am. To everyone who has been part of my journey, I am deeply grateful.
When someone is diagnosed with ALS, the first question people often ask is, “What can I do to help?” For me, the answer is this: be present. Help raise awareness. Support for those living with ALS by joining efforts like Walk ALS Georgia.
I am walking so that every person and family living with ALS today knows they are not alone. I am walking to ensure that when they need help, they will find it through ALS United of Georgia. I am walking to give hope.
You may not know anyone else with ALS, but you know me. And today, I am asking you to join me—be part of my Shakti. Together, we can walk in strength, in hope, and in love.
