A Wife, Mama, Honey & Friend

Although I now call Florida home, parts of my heart will remain in Georgia, along side my best friend, Angie Ezelle. To know her is not only to love her, but to know her love for you. Like myself, so many people have expressed her to a tee when saying how Angie has spent her whole life celebrating and caring for others, often by throwing a shower/party, sending a card, and cooking someone a meal. She has been on the doorsteps of people's homes to express her care and condolences when the times have called for it, even traveling hours to give you the hug that only she can give. She has touched so many people's lives in too many ways to count.

You may know Angie well, or you may only know her from me telling you who she is. You also may or may not have already heard that Angie has recently been diagnosed with ALS, a progressive neuromuscular disease that slowly robs a person of the ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. It can strike anyone and, although there has been a lot of advancements in ALS research, we still don’t know what causes it. An ALS diagnosis is fatal because there is no cure.

I am walking so that, one day, when Georgians hear the words, “You have ALS,” it will no longer mean that they likely will die within two to five years. I am walking so that Angie and Georgians living with ALS today know that they are not alone. I’m walking to assure that when they need help, they will be able to get it from ALS United of Georgia. I am walking to give them hope.

You may not know anyone with ALS, but you do know me, and I am asking for your support. I am walking here in Florida on September 19 at the park in Sopchoppy. I have joined Angie's Tide Team to show my support and fundraise for her and Georgian's alike.

Will you please consider joining me to make strides in the fight against ALS? You can join our team with walking with me or make a gift to support our team. Either way, with your help, we can enhance the lives of people living with ALS, every day until we find a cure.

Please keep Angie, her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
