Why I Walk
My name is Amy, and I’m not just walking for ALS — I’m living it.
ALS is a disease that slowly takes everything: strength, independence, and the ability to do everyday things most people don’t think twice about. It affects how you walk, use your hands, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. There is no cure.
I didn’t choose this, but I am choosing how I show up in it.
I walk for the version of me that used to do everything without thinking.
I walk for the hard days people don’t always see.
I walk for the moments when simple things feel impossible.
But I’m also walking for something bigger than me.
I walk for everyone who has heard, “You have ALS.”
I walk for those still fighting every single day.
I walk for the families and caregivers carrying so much behind the scenes.
I walk for the ones we’ve already lost.
ALS is isolating, overwhelming, and unfair — but no one should face it alone.
This walk isn’t just about miles. It’s about showing up. It’s about awareness, support, and hope.
If you know me, then you know someone living with ALS.
I’m asking you to stand with me — by joining my team, donating, or sharing this page. Every bit of support helps provide resources, support families, and move us closer to a cure.
Together, we make sure no one walks this road alone.
