2025 Walk ALS Georgia

Mr. Sunshine's Striders

Friends and Family,

Thank you for visiting our 2024 Walk ALS Georgia fundraising page. This cause is especially meaningful to me because my grandfather, Dick Frame, has been battling ALS since 2011. Many of you know him as Mr. Sunshine, a name he earned during his over 40 years of coaching track at my high school. His ability to brighten anyone's day is remarkable. Despite his long battle with ALS, he continues to inspire us with his strength, positivity, and dedication to remembering each of his runners. We walk in his honor, as Mr. Sunshine's Striders, to support him and all those affected by this devastating disease.

ALS touches lives in profound ways. Every 90 minutes, someone learns they have been diagnosed with ALS, changing their life forever. From that moment, they face an uncertain future living with this disease. Every 90 minutes, another person loses their battle with ALS because there is no cure. This is why we walk—to support Georgians living with ALS, ensuring they get the care and support they need to live fulfilling lives post-diagnosis. On average, it costs $250,000 a year to provide the necessary care for people with ALS and their families.

Funds raised through Walk ALS Georgia help provide local care services, including financial support, respite care, transportation services, and equipment loans, easing the financial burden for families in Georgia. Without the funding from events such as this, my grandfather might not have been here with us today, continuing to pour into those around him. Your support means the world to us as we continue this fight.
