I find myself learning all about ALS and getting involved because someone I love, Laurie Hostetler has been recently diagnosed. Laurie is more than a friend, she’s family. We’ve shared life in its many forms: Going to the same high school, living in the same areas, watching our kids grow up, celebrating milestones, and supporting each other through all the highs and lows life throws our way. We have also worked side by side for Atlanta Oral & Facial surgery for several years. 

Her recent ALS diagnosis was devastating news to us all. Laurie is one of the funniest, most joy-filled people I know. She has an incredible way of making everyone around her laugh, even on the hard days at work. Her infectious laugh has brought me so much joy to hear filling the office. She’s happiest when she’s surrounded by friends, family, and a good time. She is courageous and I have never seen her back down from a challenge. I just wish this was one she could sit out.

Laurie, your bravery inspires me every single day. You are not walking this path alone. I, and so many others are here to support you, love you, and fight beside you. This message stands as a small tribute to the incredible woman you are and the countless lives you’ve touched, including mine. Now lets go kick some ALS butt!
