Help Me Support Walk ALS Georgia!

I am participating in the ALS United Walk fundraising event this year in memory of my husband, Glenn Woodard. I am participating so that, one day, when Georgians hear the words, “You have ALS,” it will no longer mean that they will likely die within two to five years. I am participating so that Georgia’s living with ALS today know that they are not alone. I am participating to assure that when they need help, they will be able to get it from ALS United of Georgia. I am participating to give them hope.
This will be the 7th year that Glenn’s Gang has participated in the Atlanta ALS Walk. We started the year Glenn was diagnosed with ALS (2018) and have continued to support this cause that is so special to our family. Although Glenn passed in 2020, the need for raising awareness of this disease continues. Raising money for research and to support those families who are living with ALS is still important if we are going to find a cure for this disease.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neuromuscular disease that slowly robs a person of the ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. It can strike anyone and, although there has been a lot of advancements in ALS research, we still don’t know what causes it. An ALS diagnosis is fatal because there is no cure.
You may not know anyone with ALS, but you do know me, and I am asking for your support. Will you please consider joining me to make strides in the fight against ALS? You can join our team or make a gift to support our team. Either way, with your help, we can enhance the lives of people living with ALS every ay until we find a cure.
