2024 ALS Polar Bear Run
GEORGIA TRIUMPH ASSOCIATION
25th Polar Bear Run held on Saturday, December 28, 2024
The Georgia Triumph Association was founded in 1981 with over 200 members. Its purpose is to foster fellowship among owners of Triumph vehicles though owning a Triumph is not a requirement for club membership. The GTA conducts drives, picnics, holiday parties, tech sessions, monthly meetings, fund raisers and car shows to further the goals of the association.
The Georgia Triumph Association’s first Polar Bear Run was in 2000. Held the last Saturday of the year, this event is open to all car clubs and individuals with the intent to celebrate the end of the old year and the emergence of a New Year. Like Polar Bear year-end events held elsewhere, the challenge is to make a top-down run rather than jumping into a freezing lake.
In 2014, one of our members, Earl Ferguson, lost his wife Susan to ALS. In her memory, Earl began in 2015 collecting donations for ALS United of Georgia during the kick-off meeting before the Polar Bear Runs began. This was an informal process but Earl forged a relationship with the ALS United of Georgia over the years.
For our 2024 25th Polar Bear Run held on Saturday December 28, 2024, the club decided to adopt the ALS United of Georgia as our centerpiece charitable cause. As a result, we have partnered with the ALS United of Georgia and established this website to collect donations and to challenge other Atlanta area car clubs to join us as fundraisers in achieving our annual goals. Together, let’s make a difference-one dollar at a time! Go to gatriumph.com for more information.
