Welcome to the ALS Donation Page for George Klisures
In loving memory of George Klisures, a devoted husband, father, and friend, who passed away peacefully on Saturday night, April 11th, surrounded by his family.
George lived life with energy, passion, and a deep love for those around him. He was an avid athlete—playing shortstop on his softball team, enjoying tennis and golf, and staying active every day. He was also a devoted New York Mets fan, always cheering on his team. George shared a love of travel with his wife, Susan, and together they visited all 50 states, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary last November. He also cherished traveling with his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Heather, creating lasting memories around the world.
Over the past two years, George and our family faced the profound challenges and hardships of ALS. It is a devastating disease with no cure, and we witnessed firsthand the toll it takes. While his loss is deeply felt, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.
This "George's Journey" team has been created as a memorial to honor George’s life and the incredible impact he had on everyone who knew him.
A private family burial will take place in Lauderdale, FL on Thursday, April 16th. Celebration of Life has been tentatively scheduled for Sunday, May 17th. Details to come.
In lieu of flowers, food, or other gifts, we ask that you consider making a donation in George’s memory to ALS United of Georgia. This organization was a vital part of our journey, providing guidance, resources, and compassionate support to help families navigate the realities of ALS every step of the way.
Thank you for helping us honor George’s memory and for supporting families facing ALS.
